What’s Up?

My Name's Blake

I'm a full-stack creative professional with a passion for Product Design. With over 6 years of UI/UX Design experience and more than 11 years of designing websites, I specialize in creating exceptional experiences for users through quality end-products.

As a product designer, my focus is on gaining a deep understanding of customer needs and problems. I use this insight to create effective solutions by sketching out ideas, transforming them into polished prototypes, and testing them with users and customers.

One of my core strengths is collaborating with development teams to ensure that final designs meet all expectations. I bring a meticulous attention to detail to this process, ensuring that designs are implemented seamlessly and that the user experience is optimized.

Overall, my goal is to create products that not only meet business objectives, but also resonate with customers and provide a delightful experience. If you're looking for a product designer who is passionate about delivering effective solutions and driving business growth, let's connect.

Below, you'll find a few of my recent projects that showcase my process and work. I'm excited to share my portfolio with you and look forward to discussing how I can help bring your next project to life.

Service Type Configuration

The process for adding new service types to AppOmni was complex and time-consuming. Customer demands for easy creation of new service types were not met. Additionally, the existing method for customers to add their own services was overly complex, which hindered their ability to contribute to AppOmni’s service library. This project aimed to simplify the process, enabling customers to onboard service types more efficiently and enrich our service offerings.

RBAC Management UI

At AppOmni, I overhauled the inflexible RBAC Management feature. The previous system limited users to Administrator or Read Only permissions, which wasn't enough. I collaborated with a team to research and rethink the system, allowing customers more granular control of user permissions. The redesigned feature gave customers the ability to assign new roles that define access to different parts of the application. The project taught me a lot about customer needs, backend complexities, and the power of collaboration in product design. The result was increased customer satisfaction and reduced support requests. Overall, it was a rewarding and exciting experience that contributed to the success of our product.

AppOmni Design System

During my tenure at AppOmni, I led a project to design a new design system from scratch. This project involved designing and building a Figma library of components, as well as guiding a team of developers to transform the Figma library into a GitHub library. This enabled the components to be seamlessly integrated into AppOmni's systems and processes, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the design and development teams. Overall, my efforts helped to establish a more cohesive and scalable design system for AppOmni, setting them up for success in future projects.

Horrid Magazine Website

HORRID Magazine is a Denver based magazine that showcases dark art photography in a monthly printed zine. They needed a web solution that allowed users to purchase monthly and yearly subscriptions. Finding a solution to their problem was a bit of a challenge, but I was able to figure something out that has yielded some impressive results.

Pensford Website Redesign

Pensford's original website was quite difficult for users to figure out and didn't establish their brand as industry leaders. My goal with this project was to create a new design system that had clear paths for users to follow while building their brand as leaders in their industry.

First Descents Program Inquiry Form

When it comes to rethinking submission forms, the future of the web has the potential to be really beautiful. The goal of this project with First Descents was to rethink their robust form system to get better results with completion. After doing some research, I found that a multi-step form with a design element that would help users understand how far along they are in the form submission process might help increase completed form entries. After implementing this, form completions have increased by over 70%.
